Week of August 30th
This week the Tennessee
Republican Party puts the spotlight on State House District
10 Candidate Don Miller! As
a trusted leader and proven conservative, I will fight for
our values in Nashville as we work to reduce the size of
state government, fight illegal immigration, and bring more
high-quality jobs to Hamblen County. - Don Miller
WHO IS DON
MILLER?
Don is a long-time resident of Hamblen County, where he
and his wife of more than thirty years, Traci, raised their
two children, Matt and Meagan.
A proven fiscal and social conservative, Don has a track
record of being an active community member, dedicated family
man, solid Republican, and sound Business Administrator.
He's ready to serve as Hamblen County's voice in the State
House.
WHERE & WHY
IS DON RUNNING?
Don is running for State Representative in East Tennessee's
10th State House District, which is comprised of Hamblen
County. Don is running against liberal Democrat Larry Mullins
who was a delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention
in support of Barack Obama. That same year, Don was elected
to serve as a delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention
for John McCain.
Don is running to bring the same common-sense conservative
values that he shares with Hamblen Countians to Nashville.
From raising his children, working and being an active community
member in the District, Don knows that the citizens of Hamblen
County deserve a Representative that will fight tax increases
and a state income tax, work to strengthen our education
system, and lead the fight against illegal immigration,
all while keeping Tennessee a business-friendly state that
will foster job growth and economic development. Don Miller
is committed to being that State Representative.
WHAT WILL DON
DO FOR YOU IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE?
Don is committed to helping the citizens of Hamblen County
get back to work. Hamblen County has suffered months of
some of the highest unemployment numbers in the state and
that's why Don will work to begin to turn the tide and help
put Hamblen County back to work. Don knows that Tennessee's
leading assets to attracting new jobs and economic development
are our strong, pro-business policies. Don will fight to
keep Tennessee a right to work state, oppose any attempt
to implement a state income tax, and reduce the cumbersome
regulations that serve as a deterrent to small businesses
in our state. Don understands the importance of small business
and will work to make sure that state government stays out
of the way of small business owners as they work to grow
their businesses and create more jobs for Hamblen County
and Tennessee.
Another issue Don is passionate about is education. Don
knows that the future of our state depends on the education
of future generations, and with good education comes the
promise and foundation of good jobs and economic development.
Don is committed to making sure that Tennessee's Technology
Centers remain a leading source for career and technical
training and he wants to ensure the unemployed have the
ability to gain new skills that will help them in their
search for new employment.
Don is also ready to lead the charge to protect our traditional
Tennessee conservative values. As a member of the NRA and
an avid hunter and fisherman, Don can be counted on to always
vote to protect our Second Amendment Rights. Don is the
pro-life candidate in the District 10 race, strongly supporting
SJR 127 and other efforts to protect the rights of the unborn.
He will always vote pro-life without hesitation.
Other Candidate Spotlights:
Jim Hardin
