Week of September 20th
This week the Tennessee Republican Party puts the spotlight on State House District 76 candidate Andy Holt!

I'm not a career politician and I don't intend on becoming one. I simply want the opportunity to show my support for common sense fiscal responsibility, traditional family values, uninhibited second amendment rights and tax rate reductions for Tennessee families and small businesses. - Andy Holt

WHO IS ANDY HOLT?
Andy Holt is a graduate from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a bachelor of science in Agricultural Economics and Business with a minor in Animal Science. Soon after receiving his undergraduate degree, he received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Tennessee at Martin. Andy is married to Ellie Anderson Holt of Dresden, Tennessee. The Holts met while both attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After graduation in 2004 they were married and moved to Weakley County. They have two children, Josie, born in 2008 and Andrew, born in 2009. They live on a farm near Dresden.

Andy and Ellie have been members of Long Heights Baptist Church for five years. They are very active in church life, both serving on various committees and ministry teams. Andy is a Deacon, and the couple teaches Sunday school, as well as youth Bible studies.

WHERE & WHY IS ANDY RUNNING?
Andy is running in State House District 76 which is comprised of all of Weakley County and the northern half of Carroll County in West Tennessee. He is challenging incumbent Democrat Mark Maddox, who voted to increase his own salary and is on record stating that Tennessee's budget crisis is NOT the result of excessive spending, rather not enough taxation.

When asked what motivated him to run for State Representative, Holt answered, "It's my friends, family and neighbors; it's my co-workers and all the hard working men and women in Weakley and Carroll Counties who feel helpless at this pivotal point in our State and Nation's history. This race is not about me; it's about all those folks out there who know that we have ventured too far down the wrong road. They know it's time to change leadership and change directions back to the principles of our founding fathers."

"I have chosen to run for State Representative to serve and to represent the people; not to serve myself and to impose my will upon them as we often see done in government today... I will make a positive difference and one that I think most folks in District 76 can agree with, and that is why I would appreciate everyone's vote to elect Andy Holt as State Representative on November 2nd."

WHAT WILL ANDY DO FOR YOU IN THE STATE LEGISLATURE?
Andy will promote job growth in the area by working to ease the tax burden on small businesses relocating to Carroll and Weakley Counties. He will oppose any attempt to implement a state income tax and work to cut spending because he believes that government needs to tighten its belt and stop overspending Tennesseans' hard-earned tax dollars. He's 100 percent pro-life and will always vote to protect the sanctity of human life. Andy is a member of the National Rifle Association and believes in protecting Americans' Second Amendment freedoms.
