TENNESSEE GOP SUPPORTS TAXPAYER TRANSPARENCY IN GOVERNMENT ACT

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

NASHVILLE, TN - The Tennessee Republican Party has issued the following statements regarding the Taxpayer Transparency in Government Act introduced today by statehouse Republicans.

“The Taxpayer Transparency in Government Act gives people the tools to help identify waste and questionable spending priorities and learn who is getting preferential treatment in the tax code. We believe that information will lead Tennesseans to become more involved in tax and spending policy and steer the state away from the current liberal cycle of explosive spending growth, tax increases, revenue shortfalls and budget cuts, and toward a more sustainable, conservative, fiscal path.” - Bill Hobbs, Communications Director, Tennessee Republican Party.
