GOVERNMENT AS YOUR PARENT
…”PROGRESSIVES”/DEMOCRATS HOPE
In our state legislature we are seeing bills that place the government, yes the state government, in the role of making decisions that should be made by parents.
1) Republican-sponsored legislation was killed in the Democrat Speaker Jimmy Naifeh-controlled committee that would not permit middle school children to undergo “teaching” that emphasizes the homosexual agenda and gay families and partners.
2) Democrat-sponsored legislation is being promoted that will force Home Educators to teach the same curriculum utilized in public schools due to the requirement, upon passage, of testing of all students on the same material. In essence, the Democrats want to remove parent’s decisions to educate their children at home with an independent curriculum that best suits their children and mandate one single curriculum.

SHOULD STUDENTS HERE ILLEGALLY BE ADMITTED TO PUBLIC UNIVERSITIES/COLLEGES?
Republican-sponsored legislation will be introduced very soon that will prevent our public institutions of higher education from admitting illegal immigrants as active students. Despite Republican-sponsored legislation that would required driver’s testing to be administered in English, our state’s official language and that which the road signs are written, which Democrats have killed. Similarly, Republican-sponsored legislation to require a picture identification to vote and receive taxpayer-funded services, which Democrats consistently oppose.
If you think your children should be forced to wait in line for admission to our tax-payer funded, public universities and colleges behind illegal immigrants, then you will agree that the Tennessee Democrats are executing a great plan. But if you want our tax-payer funded, public universities and colleges to admit only legal students, support Tennessee Republicans.

REPUBLICANS ADDRESS ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION ISSUE…WITH SOLUTIONS

The Republicans in Congress have introduced a package of fifteen bills that address the illegal immigration issue. Not through amnesty, but rather by focusing on “completing the 700-mile border fence already in progress, establishing English as the national language, instituting tougher workplace enforcement rules, stripping local police agencies of funding if they support ’sanctuary cities’ and banning driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. FYI: Barack Obama, this week, stated he would “reverse the border fencing.”
The upcoming elections will demonstrate those committed to solutions and possess a conservative voting record in contrast to platitudes, promises and empty rhetoric. Vote Republican!
