NASHVILLE, TN – The Tennessee Republican Party today urges all gun owners and handgun carry permit holders to fight back against House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh’s latest assault on their security and rights by helping elect pro-Second Amendment Republicans in the upcoming elections.

Yesterday in Nashville Naifeh and his anti-gun gang ran roughshod over commonly-accepted parliamentary procedures in order to kill legislation that would have made carry permit holders more secure by protecting their personal identity information, and also killed legislation that would have allowed carry permit holders to carry their gun into restaurants for their personal defense.

“Our message is simple: Democrat House Speaker Jimmy Naifeh and his anti-gun gang won’t pass legislation protecting your Second Amendment rights or your security, but Republicans will - if voters will give us majority control of the state House in the upcoming election,” said Robin Smith, chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party. “Gun owners and carry permit holders should target their votes and their campaign donations accordingly to ensure their rights in Tennessee.”
