TENNESSEE REPUBLICAN PARTY RESPONDS TO BREDESEN CRITICISM OF MCCAIN

NASHVILLE, TN - The Tennessee Republican Party has issued the following statement responding to Gov. Phil Bredesen’s criticism of Sen. John McCain for “thinking like a Senator, not a President” during recent days as Sen. McCain left the campaign trail to return to Washington to work on legislation to avert an economic crisis.

“Sen. McCain IS a senator, and has a responsibility to the American people in that role,” said Robin Smith, Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party. “Unlike Barack Obama, Sen. McCain has demonstrated that he knows that the answer to every question is not more partisan political campaigning. Sen. McCain is able to discern when it is time to govern and work toward solutions and when it is time to campaign for election.

New Obama Campaign Ad Implies It’s Bad to Buy a Honda

NASHVILLE, TN - The Tennessee Republican Party has some friendly advice for Barack Obama: Those “foreign automakers” who made those cars you criticized John McCain for buying? They employ hundreds of thousands of Americans across the heartland of America, including in so-called “swing states” like Ohio.

Today, Obama’s campaign released a new and very silly ad attacking John McCain, a certified American war hero, for owning three cars built by international automakers - a Honda, a Volkswagen and a Lexus. The junior senator from Illinois apparently doesn’t realize that foreign automakers like Honda, Volkswagen and Lexus-maker Toyota have major operations in the United States, employing hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Music Row for McCain Sets Second Showcase

NASHVILLE, TN - The Tennessee Republican Party and Tennesseans for McCain are once again thrilled to bring together McCain-Palin supporters from across Tennessee to hear some of Nashville’s most accomplished singer-songwriters for the second Music Row for McCain showcase. The first event was a huge success and this week Music Row for McCain Co-Chairs Lee Miller and Tammi Kidd will headline the show, which is free and open to the public.
