RE: 8.2%
The June unemployment report released this morning further confirms that President Obama’s policies are not working. It has now been 41 straight months with unemployment at 8% or higher. The current unemployment rate for African-Americans is 14.4%, while the unemployment rate for Latinos is 11%. The President said that if he didn’t have the economy figured out in 3 years, then there was going to be a “one-term proposition.” We agree.
In making the case for the President’s stimulus plan, Obama’s economic advisers predicted today’s unemployment rate would be about 5.6%. We are far from that!
And as the President travels through swing states with the slogan “Betting On America,” more and more Americans are quickly realizing that they can’t afford to gamble on a President whose jobs plan is full of empty rhetoric and blame.

TNGOP Chairman’s Statement On The June Unemployment Report
NASHVILLE, TN – Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney released the following statement on the June unemployment report, which shows the unemployment rate remaining at 8.2%-
“Today’s jobs report shows that we remain in an economic drought, and it’s clear that Obama’s destructive policies have failed to provide much-needed relief for so many families.
“As President Obama’s first term winds down, the choice becomes more clear- either month after month of 8% or higher unemployment with President Obama or a real jobs plan with Mitt Romney that will get people back to work.”
