Devaney Statement on the Swearing-In of State Rep. Pat Marsh (10-26-09)
NASHVILLE, TN – Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney issued the following statement after newly-elected State Representative Pat Marsh was sworn into the 106th General Assembly:
“I’d like to congratulate Pat and his family on this momentous occasion,” said Devaney. “This is a really good day for his district and the State of Tennessee. Pat won this seat because he is a true conservative who will use his business experience to strengthen our economy by reigning in wasteful government spending and supporting pro-growth policies that will fuel job creation across the state. There is no question that Pat is the right man for this job and it was great to see him officially sworn in to represent District 62.”
Pat Marsh was elected on October 13, 2009 in a special election against Democrat Ty Cobb whose brother, Curt Cobb, had resigned the District 62 House seat to take another job. Despite the seat being a Democrat stronghold for generations, Pat defeated Cobb by a 15-point margin of 56-41 percent.
