Rep. Litz Puts Family Business Before the Law
Thursday, April 26th, 2007
(Nashville) - On the House floor this week, Representative Mike Bell presented HB 129 which requires a demolisher of motor vehicles to keep records including a VIN number and a copy of the seller’s photo ID to help crack down on stolen cars. However, Representative John Litz presented an amendment to exempt Hamblen County so that this bill would not apply to his brother-in-law who operates a car crusher business in Hamblen County.

According to a recent video recording of a Democrat legislative breakfast posted on YouTube.com, West said “there was a Hispanic, Republican policeman who ran against me. I still don’t know what the h*ll that is” followed by laughter from the group.
