NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden released the following statement on the end of Tennessee's 2019 legislative session:
“As this year’s legislative session comes to an end, I am proud that our Republican legislators were able to pass so many great bills that work to make the lives of Tennesseans better. A lot of progress was made on Governor Lee’s agenda, including criminal justice reform, the fight against the opioid epidemic and education.
“Tennessee was also able to unanimously pass a fiscal budget for the first time in nearly a decade. Pay raises for teachers, the establishment of the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives and the largest deposit ever into the Rainy Day Fund are just a few of many accomplishments of that budget.
“I look forward to watching our state continue to prosper under this governor and his administration.”
